Arrive at Stanley Hot Springs via an amazing hike with rewarding views and naturally, superb hot springs. Great camping spot as well.

Start your hike to the hot springs at trailhead 211.  Trail is roughly 5 miles with an easy gradual incline. Enjoy some of the mountainous views on your way.  There are no signs directing you to the hot springs but there will be two forks in the road and you'll take the right path both times.  Be aware that there is a river you must cross about 1/2 mile before arriving and there is no bridge.  In winter the water will be pretty high and might make it difficult to cross.  Once you have arrived enjoy setting up camp in a beautiful treed area and then go soak your weary body in the pools.  Star gazing is AMAZING out there as well!

Stanley Hot Springs Reviews

We hiked in late November, just after a storm had come through, so the last mile was snow hiking. There were several downed trees toward the last mile. One tree had fallen on the rope at the creek crossing. We were able to make it across very carefully and re-tie the rope correctly. Much better return trip. The hot springs are pristine! This is a great day trip, but I would love the spend the night up there as well.

As far as hikes to wilderness hot springs go, this is my all-time favorite. It's super remote (located in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness) and takes some effort to get back there, but it's well worth it.

Not everywhere can you be relaxed in a sandy pool of clear, hot water and have a Cow Moose with calf, come up to you and take a long drink.. You lay very, very still. Hardy hike, well worth it. Pack a bag, camp light..dispersed..

what a cool place

This is the perfect hot springs adventure! Soak your sore feet in the hot springs after the hike and warm up during those chilly nights.
