With some fall color, these falls really pop in photos. I'll be coming back again this fall to capture these with oranges/red leaves.

I waded out into the water a bit (closer to the falls) for a more interesting angle on a long exposure shot. Could have skipped these falls, however.

This was a welcome change from the pavement and the trails were pretty soft! Was nice on the knees.

Came here to shoot the Milky Way and found just too much light pollution for my taste.

Definitely explore this historic area if you're visiting William and Mary (or the other way around). It's a great town with a lot of fun activities for kids/families.

Nice little walk. Knocked this out with the family not too Long ago and really enjoyed it. Came here as a kid once as well, fun to revisit!

Surprised to find this place relatively quiet on a Friday afternoon. Its a pretty beach, I'll be bringing my camera next time to capture some of the birds around sunrise.

Calm waters when we visited. Decided not to camp (crunched on time) but we were happy to get out and stretch the legs during a trip that passed nearby.

The bridge makes for an interesting subject for photos. You can play with the exposure/shutter speed quite a bit, too, for interesting effects.

Museum was actually a lot of fun. Lots of neat history in there if you're into that!

If you're looking for something to do with the family, stop through. If you'd rather not pay a fee, skip this one.

Came here with the whole family. It gets hot during the day (if you’re not familiar with VA weather) so come prepared with plenty of water.

Really enjoyed this area for an evening of photography. If you get low, you can find some interesting textures for a foreground.

I came here to photograph some surfing not too long ago. It’s really scenic and folks were friendly!

The bridge acts as a perfect leading line. Bring a tripod for a longer exposure

In terms of photographing sunset, there are some other spots nearby with fewer obstructions. However it’s all up to your personal preferences!

You can really get some unbelievable sunsets here. On less windy days, the water can create a glass like affect that makes for amazing photo opps.

The ferry was super easy and ran pretty regularly. Did a short weekend camp here and we enjoyed the long stretch of shore for runs.

Used to drive here from further inland just to catch the sunrise. Doesn't get much better on the NC coast.

This was my first beach-camping experience (and driving on sand) and I felt really comfortable out here cause of all the other campers. Knew if I'd have been stuck, plenty of folks would have been there to help. Theres an air pump just down the road for when you leave, too!

It takes a bit of skill to get your exposure right on the actual lighthouse, so do a few takes and try to do a multi-exposure shot if need be.

She was a burner! Not too crowded at the lake and it was super peaceful... especially after those switchbacks.

Drove slow, took way too many photos. Doesn't get better than a drive like this. Its a must-see if you're visiting RMNP.

Super accessible and incredibly close to town. If you've got limited time in Boulder/Denver, put this on your list.
