Its a really fun cave to explore, but be careful, come prepared, and let folks know where you're going!

Came here with the dog for a stroll in this park. I enjoyed it, relaxing, not very crowded on a weekend evening.

Its a good spot for photography thats very close to restaurants, gas, etc. If you're staying in Blacksburg, its a close escape!

I'm not used to finding covered bridges this far south (usually a Northeast thing), but it was a welcome sight! The fishing was solid, caught a few brookies that responded well to dry flies (parachute Adams).

The lower pools made for a fun dip during the summer. Cold water! Bring sandals like Chacos for grip/comfort on the rocks.

This is a nice open patch along the ridge. If you've got some other hikers with you, it makes for a good spot for portrait photography.

These falls are super accessible if you're looking for a short walk to a nice waterfall for photography.

The rafting here is epic, especially during the fall. I'd put this on your list if you're an adrenaline junkie looking for a fun group activity.

Reminded me quite a bit of horseshoe bend (probably the most photographed natural feature in the US). Nice spot for photography.

Awesome falls for photography. They're really dramatic if you get the angle right and the multiple levels or "stairs" can create a deep effect for a finished photo.

It's a great view onto the rolling mountains of Appalachia. I brought along a telephoto lens for some photos and was able to compose a few landscape shots with a different perspective.

There usually is some fog that hangs down near the river, making for a great photo and some much-needed contrast with the trees. A good leading line as well.

Probably the best view of the New River Gorge bridge, in my opinion. Its a nice hike and easy for most (even young ones!).

Good area to explore. The road in was a bit tight in a big pickup, but we didn't encounter any cars coming in the opposite direction so it wasn't a problem.

This trail leads to an iconic mill for the fall colors. Bring along your camera to capture some beautiful photos of WV during fall.

Did this sail when I was passing through Seattle. It was a fantastic change of scenery from the mountains and the skyline is iconic!

The short distance made for a good running trail. It wasn't too rocky, but its hot during summer! Bring water with ya or make sure you leave extra in the car.

Came here from the DC area and it was worth the hours behind the wheel. It doesn't disappoint and made for an iconic image of autumn.

If you're looking to take an iconic photo of West VA during fall, its this. Come through when the colors are at peak!

If you're staying in nearby Blackwater State Park, it makes access to Cathedral really easy and doable for a change of scenery. The old growth is awesome!

Heck of a vantage point. On top of West Virginia and a perfect area for night photography (due to the elevation).

I've visited this park in the spring/summer a few times and didn't, but I'm going to be making a long weekend out of it this fall to see the colors! The park has some fantastic hiking, overlooks, and opportunities for photography during the season. I'm stoked!

I showed up here earlier this spring and new immediately that there would be a ton of potential during the fall. Can't wait to head back, thanks for the inspiration!!
