The pathway around the Grand Prismatic is a must see when in Yellowstone. The colors of the algae and the blue water are absolutely beautiful

Old Faithful is a classic landmark within Yellowstone National Park where large crowds flock to the geyser before each eruption. It's really cool to see in person.

The Coral Pink sand dunes are unique in that there are also pine trees growing. The sand is also a pretty pinkish red, hence the name of the park. Worth a visit!

I have been to both upper and lower Antelope Canyon. I think they are both worth a visit. The upper canyon gets more dramatic light beams and the lower canyon in much narrower. The only downside is that the canyons get quite crowded.

Waterholes canyon is a slot canyon outside of Page, AZ. This canyon is gaining in popularity and now requires a guided. I had the luxury of exploring this canyon on my own with just a permit before guides were required. It was a beautiful and fun canyon to explore.

The hike to the Horseshoe Bend Overlook is easy and family friendly. The view of the river below is beautiful. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop

Gafton Ghost town is a cool place to explore just outside of Zion National Park. The building are quite well preserved and a small cemetery is nearby. Great place to photograph

This is a fun stop right off the highway near Marble canyon. The rock houses are fun to explore and photograph.

This trail loops through the canyon full of unique rock formations and hoodoos. The views and scenery was amazing. So many places to stop and snap a photo.

I did this as a side hike on my way up to Observation Point. It was a really cool trail with chains, steep cliffs and narrow canyons. There is even a small arch. Highly recommended.

The hike to the subway is absolutely beautiful. Make sure to pay attention to the ridgeline where you hike into the canyon, it's easy to miss on the hike out. I didn't have problem finding the trail but several others in my group missed the trail. Wear shoes with good grip and bring trekking poles to help balance as the rocks in the creek are incredibly slippery. If you go in the spring when more water is flowing through the canyon, be sure to swim through the pool at the end to a waterfall. It's freezing cold but awesome.

If you're camping at Havasu Falls, hiking to the confluence is a must!! Get an early start to be sure you are back to Mooney falls before nightfall. The water from the Colorado river is freezing cold so as soon as you cross into the beautiful blue waters, the warmth is welcoming.

I first hiked grapevine canyon as a young girl on a Girlscout trip. We learned about the natives in the area and them made rope from cactus. I went back many times since. It's best to hike the trail in the cooler months when the creek is flowing.

You can also start this trip by Getting a permit and dropping in at Hoover Dam. There are a lot of hot springs in the area so it's fun to camp along the river and explore them all. Also, the water in the River is extremely cold, even in the hottest months of the year.

The trail to the hot springs takes you through narrow canyons on the way down to the cold waters of the Colorado River. My favorite part is the ladder you have to climb to reach the pools above the waterfall. Also, keep your eyes peeled on the hike out for some petroglyphs.

It's a short hike through the gorge to the waterfall, which is the highlight of the trek. While taking in the gorgeous views I couldn't help but think how crazy it was that Jessie James had actually jumped a horse across the gap to evade capture. It's quite the drop to the bottom, and the gap is rather wide.

Angels Landing is a must do hike when visiting Zion National Park. The trail can get very crowded so it's best to get early in the day. The trail is mellow until you start going up the switchbacks. Once you make it to the top of the switchbacks the real fun starts. Just take your time and be sure footed every step of the way from here. Such a fun hike!!!

This is one of my all time favorite hikes. The combination of being in a slot canyon and climbing waterfalls makes it exciting and fun. The canyon is absolutely beautiful.

The Cliff Dwelling is remarkably well preserved and quite impressive. The walk through the park in very educational and family friendly. The only thing that would make a visit better would be to walk through the ruins themselves.

The first time I visited the lava Tubes as I child I was in awe. It's a really cool place to explore. It can be hot outside but as soon as you're underground in the tunnels, the temperature drops quickly. It's a great summer destination

Lockett Meadow is one of my favorite hikes in Northern Arizona. During the fall the trees turn bright yellow and make for one of the most beautiful hikes in the state. The trail draws visitors from across the state so get there early to beat the crowds.

Lockett Meadow is one of my favorite destinations in the fall of the year. The changing color of the trees draws many people from all over the state. Get there early to beat the crowds.

Hiking the West Fork of Oak Creek is one of my favorite trails in the fall. The trees combined with the red rocks and creek makes for the perfect fall destination. The trail is very popular so the parking lot fill up fast. Get there early if you want to snag a parking spot. There is often a backup of traffic near the trail from visitors parking and looking for spots along the highway.

The Broadway Cave has grown in popularity in recent years due to it's close proximity to the city and ease of access. The hike to the cave is easy and relatively flat until the end where you have to climb up to the cave. The views can be quite spectacular and is a perfect spot to catch the sunset.
