Glacier National Park is known for its craggy mountain peaks, glaciated valleys and epic landscapes. Time it right when exploring the backcountry here and you can get all of the above, as well as gorgeous fall foliage blanketing the already stunning scenery.
Two well-known and beloved Yellowstone wolves were killed this past month during the legal hunting season. Both were killed near the park boundaries. Wolves don't know the imaginary lines that separate the park from the surrounding wilderness and we need to do all we can to fight for their protection in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
After 7,000 miles of thru-hiking, I returned to my hometown in the Adirondack Mountains inspired. Finding a wilderness area under attack, I decided to do something about it... And I'm calling all of us to action to help save it.
There might not be a more scenic and accessible place in Washington than Artist Point. Go on a rare clear winter evening, and the oranges, yellows, and pinks will make you want to freeze the moment for good.
