Dirt is awesome right now! Trails are clear, did the Penn to Cave loop then went up the FS road to A and connected into the cancourse to finish the ride

We went 4/19/26 and 257 is clear! Ran into some snow close to the top of Coeur d’Alene Mtn and a couple trees…. 227 was not cleared. We went down the first section (about a mile) then cut off on the FS road to get back.. it was that bad. SO MANY TREES DOWN. It took us an hour and a half to go that short mile section of 227, climbing over easily 20+ massive trees. We had hopes it would get better.. it did not 😅 Not sure what the other side of 227 looks like but I’d imagine the same. We will make sure to pack the saw next time to do some work

Awesome trail! Perfect weather. Lots of climbers out. The workout is worth it for the views!

Perfect weather for a hike!! Only saw 1 other person the entire time even though the parking lot had a handful of cars. Trail was clear and the views were amazing as always!

Beautiful huge lake! Both sawtooth and alpine lake. This shares the beginning of the trail with Goat Lake then splits off. Last mile is an uphill slog… many people were asking how much further as we were coming down lol

Beautiful hike, the last mile-ish is pretty tough with a lot of elevation gain in a short distance and some boulder hopping and sidehilling. Beautiful meadow at the top and the lake is huge! There isnt really an easy way to get down to the water but there is a little creek by the top of the climb before you reach the meadow area. Once you’re up there you are surrounded by towering peaks and its pretty incredible. We hiked to the lake, not the peak due to weather coming in.

This is an amazing lake to hike to! It definitely gets BUSY on the weekend. Start your hike early to avoid too many people. The trail is nice and gradually climbs for the majority of it. The last 3/4 of a mile to the lake is a scramble and tough but once you push through that you’re rewarded with some amazing blue water and towering peaks

Had all the lakes to ourself! Huckleberries were EVERYWHERE so we snacked on the way up to the lakes :) Very peaceful and beautiful views

One of my favorite hikes in the area! Pretty easy hike into pyramid and a bit of a climb into upper ball lake. We usually head straight for upper ball and hangout on a large rock up there to enjoy the view and have some snacks

Yosemite Falls is a buttkicker whether you have a day pack or a backpack but climbing up to get this campsite all to ourselves made it all worth it!

Perfect hikes if you are wanting something shorter/easier! Taft point for sunset is the place to be too! Two very different views but pretty dang breathtaking

Hands down the best view in the park! You’ll meet quite a few people up there but everyone is super nice. Its a climb and the last sandy bit is a slog but so worth the climb to see a full 360 degree view of Yosemite. I could easily sit up there all day. As you’re walking back down the spine, take a look at the lake in the distance and that is where the trailhead is where you started! Pretty crazy to think you covered that distance in a handful of miles! Note: the tracking is from the top down.. and a couple miles of road because I forgot to stop the tracking, oops its about 14-15 miles round trip

Plenty of parking at the visitors center/trailhead. Along with flushing toilets. This trail climbs a bit, but has some nice flat sections. The views are definitely worth the hike! We saw quite a few backpackers as well as many either starting or ending their JMT thru hike which was cool!

Great SCRAMBLE! If you aren’t used to scrambling and route finding, this isnt the hike for you. But if you are, this is an awesome hike. Definitely have to watch the dirt/rocks in areas to find the trail. Its steep and very loose in sections, youll be grabbing onto trees and rocks to help from sliding. One of my favorites and one ive done everytime I come to Yosemite

Hike and/or mtb, but definitely see more hikers than anything. Great alpine lake backdrop. Great trail. Had some sections as we got closer to the lake where we had to walk the bike over big rocks but not bad. We had lots of fun! *busier on the weekend*

This is a hike and/or mtb trail, but you will run into more hikers than anything. The trail is great and not too technical, recently cleared and brushed. Some sections that you have to walk the bike over big rocks or small sections you cant really pedal. Thats not until youre about a mile from the lake though. We had a lot of fun!

Just hiked into Bottleneck Lake. Great easy to moderate trail. The forest service volunteers just brushed this trail last week and they did an awesome job! Passed them all on the way in and thanked them for the hard work, they also let us know that there was bear activity the night before. Previous trips we were grunted at by a bear at the lake and along the beginning of the trail so they seem to frequent the area! The trail is busier on the weekend but not horrible. It splits about 1.5 miles up so that helps disperse people. The trail is basically an old road so its wide and not too step, it does climb a little more as you get closer to the lake but not bad. Great hike!

That was an… adventure? Not recommended till late June unless you know how to read snow and can route find when you cant tell where the trail is because its covered in snow 😅 I’ve done this hike multiple times and still got a little turned around, thankfully i was tracking myself! Make sure you have something that can track offline, and a charging device. I’d say 80-90% of the trail was a snow walk.. deep snow. Parked 1 mile from the trailhead because we were stopped by snow. Postholed quite a few times, the trail is basically the creek right now so theres lots of water running under all the snow.. be prepared for wet feet. We did not make it to the original lake entrance.. not sure if that’s accessible yet as it looks like you have to go through a good water crossing/waterfall that is RUSHING right now. (According to the way the map said the trail went) We didnt check it out due a large amount of snow, the snow bridges and having dogs and didnt want to risk getting into a bad situation. You’ll see where we went up on my track, it was a good scramble up some rocks and beargrass and popped you out on the far end where the big campsites are. The lake is beautiful covered in snow, and the water still mostly frozen! But I would definitely wait minimum of 2 weeks, even then I’m sure youll be running into some snow!

Newer MTB trails with more being built! Good climb to the top, and fun trails to ride down!

Great in town hike. Easy trail, and very well marked. Lots of trails along the main one that take you down to the water if you want. I forgot to un-pause it so it missed a portion of the tracking… oops. It was a moody/rainy day which made for a nice peaceful hike. This trail is usually pretty packed when its nice out.

Great mtb loop if you’re looking for a longer ride. Includes a good amount of climbing, but worth it for the fun downhills
