My family tree can be traced through the Land Between the Lakes and the Shawnee National Forest regions of West Kentucky and Southern Illinois. I have been obsessed with traveling the Nation's National and State Parks my entire life.

No one really knows what this oddity is. One thing is for sure. Views here are awesome. Worth the short hike from the parking lot. There is also a small picnic area here and some rustic bathrooms.

Being late summer and at sunrise, this was almost a ghost town when we arrived. What followed was a rare chance to fully capture this landscape without interruption. It also allowed for some real quiet time and solitude.

I hiked this at sunset on a Sunday night and the crowds seemed to be much smaller than advertised. It also was 102 degrees the day I hiked, but once the sun started to set it was manageable. Carry enough water and wear performance wear and you should be OK. Its a bucketlist experience for a reason.

Look hard for pictures of the southwest and Mesa Arch will come up. The view through this oddity of nature is memorizing. Hold on to the kids though as this is a long drop to the canyon floor below. Easy half mile lop to and from the parking lot.

An amazing slot canyon similar to the Narrows but involves a powerful waterfall crashing from the mountains above. You can take an easy fairly level path into the canyon, or take a short strenuous hike to the high bridge that crosses hundreds of feet above.

the hot springs are open once more.

This look out for photography is what most people think of when they think of Glacier National Park. Fairy easy to get to but can be crowded with tripods.

Zebras in California? Hearst has a private zoo, now a herd of Zebras roam the grounds. They’re quite photogenic from the PCH.

This is a great trail for some exercise, but it is sometimes overgrown and tick/mosquitoes are thick.

St Andrews State Park is a great retreat compared to busy PCB. Camping there along the bay made for some solitude and great fishing. The brackish ponds and pristine dunes made for easy wildlife viewing.

This place is too crowded. It is a beautiful spot and operated by the NPS. Come in the late fall and early spring before it is taken up by everyone during the summer.

They do have monitoring on the caves now and you could be arrested if caught here. Even worse if you get caught in the tides you are likely to drown.

This is a lot like Central Park in New York. Except it’s on the beautiful coast of San Diego.

This is a great stop to get out stretch your legs take a picture then move on.

Great views of the lake and skyline along this mostly light trail.

The trees along the ocean walk around sunrise make very dramatic photos.

This could be a great park if people took better care of their trash. Beware doing this to early in the day and don’t walk here at night.

I went several times of the day. This was the best not only for photography, but enjoying the monuments without mobs of people.

There are few more beautiful places to swim on earth. Oak Creek Canyon and 89a are amazing places. Many pull offs to park and play.

Make sure to check the guide reports before attempting. Sometimes in periods of drought fishing is really tough. Hire a guide if this is your first trip.

Another great way to explore the broken arrow trail is to bring your Jeep or rent one in Sedona.

To avoid the crowds do this hike at dawn or dusk.

This area of Arizona is amazing with trails for beginners and experts. Bell rock is an Iconic spot in Arizona.

This was an awesome surprise and a must visit state park. Plenty of trails and creeks to explore and the cave is stunning.
