Easy hike along the canyon rim with great views of the canyon and the cliff dwellings without having to tackle the difficult steps.

Hike the trail starting from the visitor center and take your time walking along the rim. Be sure to admire the canyon below and the ancient dwellings in the canyon walls. During the right season, there are also beautiful wildflowers along the way.

This trail is partially paved and easy to walk.

Hike the Rim Trail at Walnut Canyon National Monument Reviews

Make sure you take the trail down into the canyon to see the ruins.

I wouldn't make a special trip just for this, but this was right on our way on a road trip, so it made for a nice pitstop to get out and stretch our legs. Filled with lots of interesting history. Was decently crowded when we stopped. Enjoyed our visit!
