Tomichi Trail is an out-and-back trail that takes you by a river located near Cimarron, Colorado.

The trail is a loop which goes past a lake! Bring a lunch, hang out, and swim for a while. There are bathrooms along the trail.  The park is 18 miles north of Fredericksburg on Ranch Road 965, or from Llano, take State Highway 16 for 14 miles south and then go west on Ranch Road 965.

The view from the top is amazing, with ocean views to the West and mountain views to the North. This is a great location for a picnic lunch or a sunset picnic dinner. After sunset, the skyline twinkles with city lights.  It is recommended to park near the tennis courts. The trail remains open year round.

The trail features chances to see bison, and scenic wild flowers. The Buffalo Viewing Trail is in Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, and is open year-round. Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be kept on leash. Old army bunkers are scattered along the trail. The trail winds through a prairie, so the grass is often mid-calf or knee height. Be weary of ticks - for both you, and your dog.
