Awesome views of La Jolla Shores. Wonderful Nostalgic feeling. Easy to find. Birch Aquarium and Beach within walking distance. Relaxing place to hang out.

From Torrey Pines Rd, turn left onto La Jolla Shores Drive. After about 1/4 of a mile down start to look for parking preferably near UCSD Coastal Apartments. Once parked walk along the UCSD apartments until you see Discovery way. Make a left at Discovery where you will then cross the street. You will see 3 metal poles. Once you pass those if you look to the right you will see the tree swings overlooking La Jolla.

There are 3 swings and are all very sturdy! There's nothing better than feeling like you're traveling back into time to your childhood. Especially with an outrageously gorgeous view in front of you along with the cool ocean breeze.

For more nostalgia if you walk just to the left of the swings you will come across a treehouse also overlooking La Jolla shores! This treehouse is extremely sturdy and offers such a calming breeze.

These two spots will bring nothing but smiles, laughter, and nostalgia. And killer views of La Jolla Shores!!

We hiked the long way around and found no swings! Somebody had cut them down and the strap hung from the tree still. Sad!

Last time I went there was only 1 swing left. So I bought my kids a swing from www.treeswingstore.com and we hung it in a big tree out back. AND I got another one to go hang on the hill. There used to be 6 or 7 swings hanging there a few years ago. I'll do my part to help out.

The swings are not where this post says, but if they were they wouldn't be a secret! I found 2 swings with a little walking around. Go have a mini adventure :)

Disappointed the swings are no longer there. Confirmed with UCSD employee working nearby. Also surprised with a $300 parking fine. Bad day!

The swings are still there, but you need to be willing to hike farther down the path.

No swings left here anymore, but there are some huts made out of sticks and a ladder built into a tree to find!

I was only able to find the one swing, but I did find a ladder to climb up a tree and two huts made out of branches that were very interesting. There seemed to be a lot of construction going on around the area, so maybe that's why the swings were cut down :(

There's actually only one swing right now and it does have a nice view of the ocean. It's a little difficult to find....and the swing sits right on a busy street so tranquility is limited but it's a bush city so I guess you can't expect to much.

This isn't a crazy adventure by any means...it's super simple and yet that's what makes it so cool. A beautiful view and a cool swing, what else do you need. If you're in La Jolla on a clear day, do this!
