A popular hike in Raven Run Park with a waterfall and views of the Kentucky River.
Raven Run Park is a 734-acre nature sanctuary near the Kentucky River Palisades. After signing in at the nature center, head out via the connecting trail to Red Trail. This will take you to an overlook above the river, and along a stream to a waterfall. You can access a trail map here.

This is a pretty area. When I went the visitor center was closed and it looked like the trail markers needed updating. Overall a nice area to kill time and exercise.

Short Hike
This is an ok hike if you're wanting to do something outdoors in central KY. Not much of a view. Trail is easy.

Easy Trail But Not Worth It
The trail is easy to hike, but the outlook wasn't anything special. If you are willing to hike a little more difficult trail for a much better view, definitely recommend going to the Pinnacles in Bera

Good Hiking Option Near Lexington
Raven Run is a great property. The views of the Kentucky River are beautiful, but be careful on the rocks - it's a long drop. Highly recommend the nature center as well. Great exhibits for kids and adults alike. I especially liked the tactile exhibits where you can handle antlers, bones and other natural objects.

Great Trails and Nice Nature Center
The trails are great for any fitness level. You can take short hikes or longer. I love going to do some trail running. Some pretty steep climbs on the red trail, but it is certainly worth the effort.
