White Rock Recreational Area features amazing snowshoe trails and brings you deep in the woods of Albert County, New Brunswick.

White Rock Recreational Area is one of the best places in New Brunswick to mountain bike in the summer and it turns into a snowshoe haven during winter. The park is located 20 minutes South of Moncton driving on Road 114. In Hillsboroug, take a right turn on Golf Club Road and let your car in the White Rock parking lot.

The park features 50 different trails and loops with 41 km of total trail distance. There is what seems like an infinity of different paths so even if the trails are well maintained with new signage (summer 2017), it's quite easy to get lost. People can check and print the map of White Rock online. You will find a big map at the beginning of the trail, so be sure to take a picture of it before you head into the woods; there used to be several of the old maps throughout the park, but during our last visit, we didn't see any of the updated maps posted anywhere in the trails. Also keep in mind the rating of the trails are made for mountain bike, therefore, they are less challenging than the color code suggest. However, still be careful of icy hills, frozen brooks, and unexpected long distances trails.

If you don't know which trail to start with, we suggest beginning around Whitehead Rd, looping Soo Sassy, south to Start Me Up, around Albert's way to Whitehead Rd and coming back on El Mosquito for around 8 km of beautiful snowshoe trails.

Prefer cross country skiing than snowshoeing? The main trail in White Rock Recreational Area is pretty flat and makes a great skiing surface. Try it out!

Fun fact about White Rock Recreation Area: In 1936, someone found a 75,000 years old Mastodon fossil in the park.  Look for the sign when entering the trails.
