Baby Beach in Koloa is a great little spot if you’re looking for a safe, calm place with kids. The lagoon in front of the beach keeps the waves small, so it feels protected and easy for little ones to splash around. We even spotted a sea turtle here—just remember to keep a safe distance so it can rest undisturbed. Parking can be a bit tricky since you need to park along the street in front of rental houses, and there aren’t any formal amenities (no bathrooms or showers). The bottom gets pretty rocky once you step into the water, so it’s good to watch your footing. That said, the calm water and family-friendly vibe make it worth it.

Poʻipu Beach is such a great spot for a family sunset. We came with the kids and it was easy to hang out, enjoy the views, and watch the colors change over the water. The highlight was definitely the turtles that come up onto the beach at sunset. The area is roped off to give them space, but you can still see them really well without disturbing them—such a cool experience for the kids (and adults!). The beach has a shower and bathrooms nearby, which made it convenient after swimming and playing in the sand. Just a heads-up: parking gets pretty crowded around sunset, so it’s worth arriving a little earlier if you can. Overall, an awesome mix of family-friendly beach time and a memorable wildlife experience. 🌅🐢

Very famiy-friendly beach. There is a lifeguard stand at the first beach park coming from the main highway. The larger parking lot is further down the beach at the pier. During our stay the waves were pretty small and both young kiddos (5&2) had a great time in and out of the water.
