So much fun! Easily looped with the other trails.

Love this campground! Super accesible to so many iconic trails of the whites!

THE white mountains picture at the top, BUT be warned, though it is stunning in the fall, it becomes ungoldly crowded on the weekends. Lost a star for that! Otherwise short, fun hike.

An out-and-back, not too many views at the top

Mt. Tecumseh is the shortest (4,000 foot-er though it’s always getting threatened to get kicked off the NH48 list) and sits right at the top of Waterville Valley. It’s a quick hike, but don’t expect a true summit view. If you’re craving scenery, you’ll get better views off the ski slopes, and it seems like some of the trees near the summit have been trimmed back over time to open things up just a bit. This is a great option for an easy day trip or when you want to squeeze in a short hike. That said, if you’re not chasing the 4,000-footers, there are other trails in the area that offer more bang for your hike, in my opinion. Still any hike is a good hike, I believe. I’ve done this one twice, and it was a great trail to test out in winter.

One of the very first hikes I did in 2020. We started at sunrise to beat the crowds. Such a fun trail with lots of exposed, ledgy sections that make it feel adventurous without being overwhelming. I went back in 2025 and hiked it in the rain… and honestly, would not recommend. The wet ledges made it significantly more challenging, and when thunder started rumbling in the distance, it all felt a bit sketchy. I knew it would be rainy that day and didn't listen to my own advice so this is more of a "choose something else in the rain" warning rather than anything else.

Pretry steep at the top! A tab bit scrambly but great 360 views!

Love love this hike!

Off the beaten path and absolutely stunning! Extremely cliffy and not well-marked for that reason, insane drops on the side with no guards.

10/10 Acadia classic for a reason, if you don’t make summit for the sunrise on an early morning hike there’s plenty of spots along the top of the North Ridge trail

The Bar Harbor namesake! Super fun trail and kid-friendly! You can hike all the way across and do a small trail on the island across. MUST check the tides before you go, only accessible in low tide.

Love this trail especially when combined with Mt. Penobscot! Beautiful views of Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake from above. Can be fairly cliffy on the way up and down but a short burst for a high reward!

Mt. Osceola is such a fun trail! Its one I often take folks to as an "intro" to the White Mountain 4,000 footers. Lots of switchbacks at the end on rock slabs that opens up to a gorgeous view of the Whites. To make this harder, you can combine this with an out-and-back to East Osceola (on the NH 4000 footers list so don't miss this one if you're checking these off your list!) which is a very wooden summit that you have to descend/ascend the notorious "Chimney" to get done. Essentially you have to scramble up/down a massive chimney structure of rocks. On the way down, you can go to the left and its a little easier and has been worn out over time by folks going the way.

Such a little gem tucked away in Cambridge. A greath path for walking, running, and bike that offers pretty wildflowers and reservoir views. Can be a little confusing to exit because there are multiple entries/exits near each other but youll always find your way out!
