This was a tough hike which is probably why there is not a ton of parking but it was easy to get a spot. The path is pretty straightforward so you won’t get lost. Its a lot of switchbacks and you need to bring water with you. A lot of it. The views are all at the top and they’re gorgeous both at sunrise and sunset. The actual lookout is very cool too!

I saw a peregrine falcon here and it was incredible! The hike itself was very empty but it was also a time of year many people aren’t visiting Door County. I was struck by how green things were even ion a chilly day in April.

Get here early - especially in summer. Its a very popular and busy trail and for good reason. There are bathrooms available before you start your hike and its a long one so it is recommended. There were a lot of creature sightings - Marmot who were unbothered by us, chipmunks looking for snacks, deer, mountain goats, and lots of hikers of course. There was a aection in July that still had quite a bit of snow and a few of us slid down but it was marked well with lots of people around for moral support. Mt. Rainier played hide and seek so there was a lot of time we weren’t seeing much mountain even at Panorama Point but we were lucky enough to get quite the show at the top of the trail just by resting and waiting it out. Check the weather if you need some mountain virws to make it worth it for you. The wildflowers and changes in scenery were worth it on their own for me. Bring water and take your time. Enjoy!

This is a fairly easy hike with great payoff. It wasn’t too crowded and we were able to sit and enjoy the sound of the flowing waterfall and river underneath us. The cover of the trees kept us nice and cool. The rainbow by the waterfall felt magical. Not a safe place to swim with all the rocks but definitely recommend it for the easy beauty.
