we tracked 16 miles to end of Alice Lake and back 🤷‍♀️, beautiful and adventurous trail. about 6 creek crossings nothing that got our feet wet. Very scenic trail. Loved it

Would rate as difficult. Lots of river crossings and yes alot of elevation! Lots of trees down. More like walking up the river bed of rocks than on a trail! Know where you will come out at! We never saw where the trail ended and went way further, unprepared. An adventure indeed. We saw no one until we got to sasafrass shelter, so I believe it is a secret.

I love climbing on rocks. I’m not a rock climber but have always enjoyed this. But be warned- this hike is hard. I’m a little out of shape yes, but I can still always swim a mile, run a 5 k and bike 20 on any given day. While i loved the boulder scrambling and ropes - it was hard, breathtakingly hot and I was really hoping to be done with the boulder scrambling before I was done 😂. I loved it and was miserable by the end all at once. My husband and I took 8 bottles of water. I drank 3.5 and he drank 4.5 and we ran out. At the end we went to a gas station and I drank a whole water, 44 oz coke and a 32 oz Gatorade! I had little to no saliva by the end. Yes, I would do this hike again and I love the adventure of it. But please be careful, carry way more water than you estimate. Agree it’s not for pets or kids. I actually slipped off a rock once I made it to the top.

This stop is in lake mead state park and is more for photography and view. There are some short paths to make your way down to water but definitely more of a view stop. Beautiful lake mead and sunset. Weather in evening breezy and perfect. 5/19

Absolutely loved this trail! Beautiful! People dwindle down once you pass the falls. I’d say it’s moderate and I’m a little out of shape right now, so for some it may be hard on the way back up. It’s an out and back. I agree with whoever below said park at the other end and then on the way back is down hill, but I did opposite because I was not sure where to park. Rocks, falls, water, many stairs near the falls. 💜

Take tower trail up and descend the overlook trail, really enjoyed even after doing many other trails . Tower red trail is lots of fun steps

There are a few short trails that run together. We did Marble Mine, Jenkins Gap & Upper Lake Trails and we chose to canoe around Lower Lake Trail too. 10$/ hr. to rent a canoe. They have kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards as well. Parking 5$, visitor center w/ restrooms. The GPS did not want to find this place but eventually after taking us in circles it found it. We saw turtles, blue heron, plenty of fish jumping, ducks, squirrels and the most beautiful lake reflections of ground covered moss and a cool red leaved tree. Only passed one family the entire time which was so nice! it’s like a 3.5 star to me but obviously that’s not an option. There are some hills but I still say easy for me.

Today after kayaking and swimming w/ friends at Red Top - I decided to check these falls off my list. Some areas - the water was plain gross - others it was beautiful. The people around were very kind, the distance was enjoyable, lots of shallow areas, definitely not somewhere I would swim, but kids were swimming at the falls. One guy caught a catfish. I did see a fair amount of wildlife. Turtles, blue heron, egret, butterfly, duck! These directions get you to the parking lot. Once you are in the water go left towards 75 bridge, you can see it from where you put in. If you go the wrong way you can’t go too far so you will know when you see you have to turn around. Stay to the right, when you see open lake there is a place you can go to right - i think there were two areas i stayed to the right. I first came to a dead end but heard the falls - just had to loop to the other side of the y and i was there!
