Great hike, fairly easy and much less crowds than the usual Maroon Bells area. This trail also brings you to some great backcountry options or trails that lead to the tops of the Bells themselves.

This place is popular for a reason, stunning scenery, mountain air, and close proximity to Aspen. Be sure to come early morning for a quiet experience before the tour buses. Photograph the lake, look for wildlife, and enjoy a picnic lunch admiring the mountains.

Nice spot to look off into the canyon and admire the painted wall. Note this spot is usually the most crowded in the park. Parking is limited to the sides of the one road in or out. Depending on the time of day the sun truly lights up the wall to create great photos.

Must do short hike in Black Canyon of the Gunnison, really beautiful scenery and views of the deep canyon. The "Point" itself is great and you can see the road and other stops you would make along the way. Note this trail continues down into the canyon for a long day hike or you can turn around and head back to the parking lot.

If your into hiking highpoints, this will be a necessary stop. It is quite pretty and surrounded by farmland. Be ready for rough dirt roads on the drive in as it is very remote and truly in the middle of nowhere. At the site check out the small art installation and mini library.

This hike is a nice intro to the park but be sure to see the viewpoints along the rim drive. Aside from the cool ladder, be on the lookout for fossils to report to the park service so they can dig them up and recognize you for the discovery.

Check out the many viewpoints along the rim road and make sure to doing some hiking along the way. As noted in the description you will likely see pronghorn and bighorn sheep as well as prairie dogs.

What a cool spot in a very easy to get to location. Note you have to have a permit ahead of time to hike due to popularity and need for limited crowds but it is definitely worth the trouble. The hike is a fairly sustained incline until you reach the pristine lake. Make sure to also check out spouting rock just a little further up which feeds hanging lake.

Great views of the monument await you. Be sure to do the full loop as you can stand very close to under the monument. After the short hike which for the most part is on pavement or boardwalk be sure to check out the visitor center and other exhibits.

This was a really cool hike, passing through the Cathedral Spires as you make your way to the tallest point in South Dakota. Once at the top you have great views towards Wind Caves and the rest of the Black Hills. In addition, there is a cool observation tower that sits atop Harney.

This spot has it all. Great views, amazing hiking, the state's highpoint, and less crowds than national parks. The spires themselves are really cool and be on the lookout for mountain goats climbing above.

Great spot in Custer. While a popular spot, getting out on the lake to kayak or hiking around the lake are great ways to see different views. Also nearby hiking trails to Cathedral Spires should not be missed.

While out of the way in northeast Wyoming, Devil's Tower is worth the visit if you are a climber, hiker, or lover of nature. This particular loop trail is not strenuous and allows you to view the entire tower from different vantage points. It starts and ends at the main parking lot. Be sure to watch and see if you can spot climbers on the tower especially early in the morning.

Wide variety of geysers, pools, and mud pots here at Norris. While most visitors skip the area in lieu of the Old Faithful loop this area of the park has lots to offer in terms of geothermal activity. While there are plenty of trails, it is easy to only do shorter sections if you have less time.

Assortments of geysers, thermal springs, mud pots and more found along this popular area of Yellowstone. After seeing Old Faithful take the boardwalks to view a variety of spots on the loop. This loop and area is crowded but mornings and evenings are great times to visit.

Beautiful stretch of Yellowstone with endless viewpoints. Check out views on both sides of the falls. Be sure to take it in from Artist Point and also hike down to the top of Yellowstone Falls to see the water going over the cliffs.Note this area of the park is crowded but once you have a parking spot you can easily hike to viewpoints along the rim trail.

This is a cool lesser known spot in the park. I recommend biking to Lone Star. Can do this with any type of bike as it is a partially gravel and pavement wide road/trail. As stated this geyser erupts fairly frequently so you can time your visit. While not as high as Old Faithful this is a nice spot.

This hike has it all in one. Combining the best hikes in the park this one route takes you through Wall Street, the Navajo section and Queens Garden. Great views of hoodoos throughout as you gain and drop elevation in different areas. Overall a great hike that will take the better part of half a day. After the hike continue on and check out a number of other rim viewpoints.

This one is pretty out there but well worth it should you be in the area. The hike itself is pretty flat and after 3ish miles you will reach the waterfall which is a nice and cool oasis in an otherwise scorching hot area in the summer. Summer days on the trail are well over 100 so make sure to pack plenty of water.

Cool part of Capitol Reef. The hike begins along the Fremont River and gradually gains elevation as you work your way to the "natural bridge". This hike doesn't get too crowded and is shaded in part later in the day. Note the arches at Arches NP are larger and more frequent but this is a secluded part of Utah making for a very enjoyable experience.

Great spot in Capitol Reef, the pies made each day are amazing with a great variety of flavors. They will sell out (anyone thinking of late afternoon pie might have to wait for breakfast the next morning). Aside from the pies head up the road to check out the petroglyphs.

This short hike leads you to one of the best sunrise spots in the park. Be warned there will be crowds but if everyone cooperates there is plenty of space to view the sunrise through the Arch at a distance. Tip: take a stroll left or right of the arch for uninterrupted views away from the immediate crowd.

Make this a quick stop or a longer hike. The views from the top of Park Avenue are great as you first enter the National Park. The hike itself if you have time is great when you have two cars one to start at the top and the second staged at the bottom for a one-way hike.

Quiet little brother of Canyonlands Island in the Sky this spot is awesome for an early morning. Recommend checking this state park out before or after your day in Canyonlands for exceptional views.
