Description

For those living in Sanger, CA the surrounding mountains dominate the horizon. They also provide the perfect platform and vista points for watching the golden Californian sunrises and sunsets. With different peaks and gradients, there's something for everyone.

River Way Ranch Camp plays home to around 120 young adults for 3 months every summer. Aiming to hire outgoing and adventurous people, the staff often need some kind of outlet beyond visiting Fresno, and often they like the campers to participate in this.

The surrounding mountains provide the perfect backdrop to both the picturesque ranch, and to the wanderings of these aspiring adventurers.

Sitting at 371 feet above sea level, Sanger is nestled in a valley of 2000 foot conquests. The most accessible and easiest of these is east of the ranch.

Turning left as you exit the gate, follow the road down for around a mile to Lupine Drive. Cross the bridge and take the first right to where the road ends. This is the trailhead.

The mountain offers two peaks, one at around 800 feet of elevation (pictured) and one close to 2,000 feet. The routes are simple as the hills are small - just keep heading up. Keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and remember to bring water!
