Hike Mount Arthur and the Tablelands

Love love love the trail up here, and love the family friendly huts lower down. It's a steep drive up though, and can be quite rutted after the winter. I have no idea what I would've done if I'd met someone coming the other way. Our old van overheated at the very end of the drive, so bring a healthy vehicle with you.

Backpack to Tama Lakes

Hands down my favourite day tramp in NZ. The last little bit is super exposed, so be careful of the winds up there. If you're lucky you'll get a nice view of Ngaroto too!
