An Algonquin Highlands township trail nestled between the main highway 35 and a township gravel pit. Mixed usage. Some parts of the trail within a forested area, others along a road. A fairly quick adventure.

Easy to enjoy. Wonderful views.

How does one even describe how miniscule they feel against the backdrop of the Grand Canyon? Not even all of it, just a tiny fraction of it. My eyes could not see enough, and my peripheral view not wide enough to soak up the vastness of my surroundings. If it weren’t for being a mortal requiring water, food and shelter, I would not have left. If you can manage the slog of hiking back up (being mindful of weather, wearing proper shoes and layers, having enough water and snacks, taking breaks, giving yourself ample time to make it back up) then you must do it!!! Pictures of the Canyon will never give you the full understanding of its beauty.

Absolutely stunning. It is so difficult to keep walking when all you want to do is stop and take in the breathtaking scenery. Only drawbacks were that by the time we reached the summit for Devil’s Bridge it was quite busy with traffic which held up the pace of the climb as well as the descension. Also, the landmark is a place where many people want to take photographs—some reckless—making it difficult to fully explore, as only so many people can walk out onto the bridge, safely, at a time.

Lots of snow cover in winter months. Wear good boots with decent traction for those slushy and icy parts. Be prepared to dodge a lot of dog waste along the beginning and and end of trails. People are not cleaning up after their pets.
