Lovely inner-urban trail that starts at Woodard Park and connects through several suburb neighborhoods. At the start of the actual Pathfinder Genesis trail, there is a bridge that is a great spot for wildlife viewing including red-wing blackbirds, frogs and even some beavers. A gem of a trail for those who live in the neighborhood and have kids or pets, who want to get outside without having to drive somewhere.

Beautiful trail for riding bikes. Went on a spring day which was lovely and not too crowded compared to what I would imagine in the summer time. Very lush tree coverage throughout with bathrooms along the way. Only went to the Buxton trestle which I’d recommend going to at the very least, or further up the trail to LL Stub Stewart State Park (and beyond) for those wanting a longer trek. Can only imagine how beautiful of a ride it would be during the fall.

Small but lovely park for walkers, runners, and bikers on the Rock Creek Trail. Recommend coming here for sunrise or sunset. You’ll likely see some ducks, geese and other birds. The parking lot fits about 15 cars so just know it may be packed on a nice day, especially around sunset. There is an outhouse next to the parking lot.

A hidden gem for wildlife viewing with lots of easily marked trails, benches to rest at, and several viewpoints to stop off at, including a viewpoint of the Tualatin River near Pintail Pond. Spotted lots of birds and bunnies. Highly recommend going here for sunrise, it was quiet and serene and I definitely see myself coming back, maybe for sunset next time!

Decent trails go along the exterior of this wildlife preserve but it is not marked well and didn’t look like it was maintained that often, as the only bench I saw had tall grass growing through it. That being said, I saw some eagles flying overhead and a variety of ducks, birds, and a grey heron standing in the water. With a little more maintenance and better signage, this would be a better spot. Ideally, I’d suggest bringing a pair of binoculars (or a sharp telephoto lens if you’re a photographer) to get a better view of animals in the lake region in the center.

A beautiful, lush trail in the Tillamook State Forest that takes you on a scenic loop filled with moss-covered trees, along Gales Creek, and through winding trails. Doesn’t seem like a very crowded trail, however, I hiked this on a weekend with a trail runner race going on so it wad busier than anticipated. Highly recommend doing this if you are a mountain biker! If I come back, I’ll definitely be biking the loop.

Beautiful, expansive wildlife preserve with many walking trails and wildlife viewing areas scattered throughout. The north side walks along the Tualatin River through lush trees, whereas the rest is fairly open. Lots of benches for resting and there is a lunch spot with picnic tables near the visitor center entrance on the east side. Go at sunrise or sunset if you want a quieter experience.

Well maintained trail, featuring White Oak Woodlands that line the trail, and expansive views of the valley below at various points of the loop. Lots of birds, including some bald eagles flying above. Nice parking area with bathrooms, a playground, and small picnic area.

Paved biking and hiking trail that has a lot of trees and shade surrounding it, with little creeks along the way. Playground next to the parking lot (which fits about 10 cars so ideal to get here early on a nice day), disc golf along the trail, and workout areas with bars. Some nice bridges over by Orchard park. Definitely recommended although be prepared for it to be crowded with bikers on nice days

Nicely maintained park that is perfect for families. Large picnic area with tables and open grass. A really nice spot for jogging, biking, or wandering with lots of trails and ponds to explore and easy access to the Rock Creek Trail. Very quiet for a sunny weekend morning. Don’t miss the Rhodedendron Garden in the spring — some were in bloom while others were still sprouting.

What an amazing forested trail right along the Tualatin River. Community Park has a nice boat launch, baseball field, playground, bathrooms and a picnic area. Cook Park has a lot of the same. Great for walking and biking. Enjoyed a solo walk in the evening around sunset.

A very serene, secluded lake park with lots of birds (geese, ducks, red-winged blackbirds, grey herons) and many people out fishing. There’s a dock on the west, east and north sides of the lake. Plenty of picnic tables to enjoy lunch during the day. Definitely recommend going for golden hour if you can!

Beautifully maintained trail through the forest with equal amounts of ups and downs. Flowers are blooming and make for a must stop near the start of the trail before continuing on. Nice picnic pavillion above the estate next to Log Tea House Pavillion which I would recommend checking out as well. Some notable road noise on the trail but overall very solid and not that packed for a Friday afternoon
