Very chill, aesthetically pleasing, paved, destination to get a good walk in. One thing to note if you start on this side, it starts with a pretty big downhill, which means on the way back will be a decent uphill. Nothing too difficult but just be aware it's not a completely flat walk. The views are great, the road is wide, you get some great tree cover in some parts and views of the water on other parts. And there's plenty of parking at the beginning on the street.

Incredible way to experience desolation wilderness. Lots of parking at Glen Alpine Trailhead, and then 7-8 miles of some flats and steady elevation gain. Nothing super difficult if you have some experience hiking. Incredible views along the way. Plenty of places to jump in the water, plenty of places to climb up a hill off path to get some great views, and overall great hiking/backpacking that’s well maintained and not too busy. PS if you’re going in the middle of summer, be prepared for some mosquitoes especially if you’re around standing water.

Really great classic desolation wilderness hike. We started from the Glen Alpine Trailhead, went all the way to Susie Lake and even spent a night up in Lake Aloha as well. The path is very well marked. The elevation is solid but nothing super difficult if you have a little bit of hiking experience. The views are incredible, the water is great to get into. Just make sure you have a permit and no fires and you're going to have an incredible time. P.S. Little hint: we ended up camping down at the base of a waterfall that runs from Susie Lake that also has some incredible cliff views. Would highly recommend.

Mirorr Lake is an easy, relaxing walk through nature in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Not particularly strenuous, and there are obviously more breathtaking views in the valley, but if you're looking for something simple, scenic, and relaxing, this is a great one to get to.

Really cool hike with lots of views of waterfalls that is not particularly strenuous. Plenty of parking at the beginning. Mostly covered by woods. Wear clothing that you don't mind getting a little wet depending on the conditions. But a really great time to spend in nature amongst the waterfalls.

Really great experience if you're looking to get into backpacking or take a long hike to be able to jump into some cool lakes. It's a long out and back for a day trip but the views are great going through both open fields and breezy mountainous ranges. You walk by a few lakes and streams on the way as well. If you're even a decent navigator you'll be able to stay on trail pretty easily, and when you get to Lake Aloha, it's really gorgeous. Get a permit if you're looking to camp in Desolation at all, but it's a really great way to experience Desolation Wilderness.

Really cool hike! Where it requires a bit of scrambling and the actual path is a little tough to stay on. But if you're comfortable with scrambling and comfortable with navigating, Robi Lake is a really cool destination. You go up along a stream/waterfall. And when you get up through the lake, there's great places to jump in to sit and have lunch and even to spend the night in back pack if that's something that you wanna do. There's parking at the beginning, there's not unlimited spaces but I've never had issues parking. Overall, if you feel like you're up for it, it is a really cool experience.

This is one of the hikes that is worth the hype. It'll be an all-day affair for most people. Took us around 12 hours, so I would get a head start pretty early, depending on your fitness levels. Bring a snack or something to be able to refuel throughout the day is also a must. But overall this hike is incredible. It's tough, not for beginners. But if you feel like you're up for it, the views are incredible. The trail is pretty well marked for the most part, and when you get to the ropes, make sure you have some gloves or something like that in case the cables are really hot. But it's a thousand percent worth it if you can make it to the top. One of my favorite hikes I've ever done.

It's a really nice and scenic trail. There's a giant parking lot (although it is $6, cash only). That takes you to a nice viewpoint in which you can see the town and the beach. The trail is well maintained, well marked, slightly narrow, but overall a very nice hike with a little bit of elevation but not too tough for most people. It's a good combination of covered and open to the sun. Great way to spend an hour or two.

Trail is east, flat, scenic trail along the water that is perfect for walking, running, or biking. It can get windy depending on the time of day, but the views make up for it, especially with planes flying overhead from the nearby airport. If the main lot is full, there’s usually space in the gravel lot across the street. Clean, relaxing, and easy to access.

Nice relaxing easy access hiking area! A couple of loops that cross in the park but this 1 mile loop is narrow with a short uphill but really scenic, well kept, nice views, and easy to get to with plenty of parking.

Nice little trail amongst the houses in the hills. Short windy road through a neighborhood to get to it, multiple entry points, with enough parking for 5-6 cars. Went on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. Some paved roads to get down to the loop which is marked as Ed Taylor loop. A few very short elevation changes but relatively easy hike overall. Some cool spots to see wildflowers, an overlook with a bench to see the bay, some nice housed peeking out of the trees and a walk next to a creek make this a simple and enjoyable 1.6 ish mile loop!

Strenuous, but very worthwhile hike. Went in the winter so I parked right at the trailhead, but my guess is in the summertime that might be more difficult. About 50% switchbacks since you gain a decent amount of elevation but the views of waterfalls half dome the valley really make it worth it. Could stop at the Falls as your peak point or go another 30 to 45 minutes to the point which is much less crowded with incredible views of the valley. Would recommend
