Additional Information

Earths hottest show and Yellowstone's awesome natural phenomena all just beyond the bow of your boat. Candidly, we're not offering you access to anything you couldn't see from the crowded boardwalks around the basin, but if you're looking for a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy and a unique perspective on the region's geothermal activity, our Yellowstone kayaking tour is just the ticket. The endless shores of Yellowstone Lake the continents largest mountain lake have steamed and simmered in a geothermal flux for thousands of years deep in the heart of Yellowstone National Park. Steamy geysers gush at waters edge, mud pots bubble and hot springs sear, and all are easy to spot from your sturdy, stable sea kayak. Our friendly and experienced kayaking guides are eager to share their knowledge of the area, and we think you'll appreciate our comfortable and well-maintained touring kayaks, PFDs and paddles.

  • Explore the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake on a 3-hour guided kayaking tour
  • Take a break from the car for an active exploration of Yellowstone's geothermal wonders
  • Paddle the pine-fringed shoreline of North America's largest alpine lake
  • See geysers, hot springs & mud pots from the unique perspective of a 2-person kayak
  • Knowledgeable guides provide interpretive discussion of Yellowstone's geology

Our Yellowstone adventure begins at Grant Village where you'll learn kayaking basics. Paddle north along the west shore of the West Thumb of the lake. Paddle to the Lakeshore Geyser, which on rare occasions can erupt up to 25 feet. Explore the Lakeshore Group of geysers, which contains the most active hot springs in the area (this geothermal area is also accessible via trails and boardwalks.) Enjoy an interpretive discussion of the region's fascinating geology. Return to the launch point at Grant Village where our Yellowstone adventure concludes.
