I'm a ANFT-Certified Forest Therapy Guide, and an award-winning landscape architect with nearly 20 years of experience. I will bring that unique perspective and philosophy to each walk.  I am the recipient of fellowships that have connected me with forests and cultures in the U.K. and Japan.  I teach and speak on the healing power of nature. I'm funny, personable, welcoming, and kind. I will guide you on a 2-hour immersive, meditative, and therapeutic forest walk based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku.  We will slow down and connect with our senses to the healing, stress-reducing beauty of a little-known, hidden corner of Minneapolis' green forested spaces. We will slip away from our phones and revive our relationship with the forest and ourselves via unique invitations.  We will share our stories and then share a tea ceremony at which we will drink tea brewed from foraged plants.  We will re-enter the tame world, renewed with the gift of nature that can be enjoyed time and again.

Additional Information

The Wood Lake Nature Center is an incredibly rich and diverse ecosystem tucked away on the southern edge of Minneapolis. This location has numerous trail options for walks of different lengths and multi-seasonal interest. Not many local residents even know about this green and quiet corner of the city. Guests will love feeling deep in the forest, despite being deep in the city.

Guests should bring appropriate gear for weather conditions.  Hiking boots/trail shoes, water, mosquito/tick repellent, sunscreen, rainjackets as needed.

We do host walks in the rain, however walks are not held in dangerous weather conditions such as thunderstorms or negative temperatures.
