This brief teaser on rafting in Southern Utah's redrock canyons, sponsored by O.A.R.S., is nicely paired with an old-timey reading of Edward Abbey, American writer and environmentalist. It's hard not to be inspired by Abbey's descriptive prose, which urges us to go out and enjoy nature, and is paired with shots of epic canyon lookouts, rushing whitewater, and glowing, sun-warmed rocks. Often, the video positions us at the backs of OARS travelers, prompting us to imagine ourselves in their place.

The video's meditative pace is preserved by the decision to abridge Abbey's popular quote, which goes on to become a bit more spirited in tone. Abbey continues:

I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You will outlive the bastards.
