Did you sweat through your shirt today? Yeah me too... Austin is just so hot and humid, but then I went to Gus Fruh and it was all better.
The trailheads are located in neighborhoods and parking isn't really too much of an issue. The shortest entrance is located off Barton Hills Dr. A quick google search and you will find it and the labeled trail. You walk down into the Barton Creek Green Belt and your spirits are uplifted. That crappy day of work or that looming homework assignment fades into distant memory as you descend into the valley. All of a sudden you see the water through the trees and laughter accompanying splashes. You have arrived.
Go for a swim. Swing off the rope-swing! Move up river and find a quiet spot to hang a hammock. Eat a snack (don't leave trash). This spot is great for everyone. It's family friendly and also provides great atmosphere from just some friends that want to chillax with each other. Lots of people bring drinks and adult drinks, it's not strictly legal but no one will stop you and cracking a drink open while floating in the river on a hot day is a feeling that few things match.

Leave a Reviewcreek dries up in the summer
It’s a great place to swim/hike, but a few things to know: 1. flowing water brings out the bro’s with their bluetooth speakers 2. the creek dries up in the summer, so go to greenbeltnow.com for water levels before you go out expecting to swim
