This is a beautiful hike just 15 minutes by ferry from Singapore with an incredible view of Pekan Quarry.
Puaka Hill trail is a short hike up Puaka Hill that opens out into a small beautiful lookout over Ubin Quarry and the west side of Pulau Ubin. Located just 15 minutes away from Singapore by ferry, Pulau Ubin is a beautiful island covered in dense jungle that for the most part has been untouched by urbanization. It provides the perfect break from the busy urban concrete jungle of Singapore.
While there is a long list of activities to do and things to see that visitors can enjoy on the island, Puaka Hill lookout is a little known and rarely visited spot.
Once you arrive at the main jetty, rent a bike or start walking west along Jalan Jelutong road. The road will curve around the south side of Pekan Quarry until it branches off into two roads, stay left on Jalan Jelutong. Soon you will cross Jelutong Bridge with Wei Tuo Fa Gong temple soon on your right. After traveling a bit further you will arrive at a small concrete hut with a bike rack to the side and a dirt trail leading off to your right up the hill. Once you begin climbing up the hill you will come to a small lookout over Ubin Quarry but don't be deceived by this false summit; you will see the trail goes on, marked by blue rope to hold on to. Continue on up the trail until you arrive at a small clearing that opens up to a beautiful view over the quarry and the west side of the island.
