An avid explorer of the Adirondack Park in northern New York state.

Given its southerly location, Hadley has a unique and rare view of Sacandaga Lake – visible from both the fire tower and the summit itself.

Mt. Jo, a favorite of locals and tourists alike, is one of the more easily accessible peaks in the area. It has a beautiful, wide-sweeping view from the top, which is just a short hike up from Adirondack Loj. Be prepared for a busy parking lot on weekends and holidays to access this mountain.

A shorter and easier (though no less steep) hike than its neighbor, Black Bear Mountain, Rocky Mountain is a great hike for families and hikers with dogs.

Black Bear Mountain has great views of the lakes below, and while steep in some parts, it can be hiked in a nice loop (or a shorter out-and-back) that is perfect for families who are vacationing in the area and looking for a half-day adventure.

The mountain can be hiked as an out-and-back or as a loop that takes you on a more gradual trail by Crane Mountain Pond. It's definitely got it a fair share of steep sections and large rocks on the trail to scramble.

Enjoyable hike. No ground views from the summit, but by going up the steps of the fire tower, you'll get 360 views from there. The top cabin of the tower is closed.
