Stroll along the Dam at the CJ Brown Reservoir

1.2 miles  - Out-and-Back Trail

Added by Amelia Walker

A paved path on top of a dam showcasing gorgeous views on both sides!

This walk is safe, open, flat and perfect for getting some exercise with a view!  The dam is 1.2 miles round trip, and open for a variety of activities - walking, jogging, biking, skateboarding, and rollerblading!  At the far end of the dam is a long set of stairs leading to the lower parking lot, which I have often used for exercise or to add a challenge to my jog.  Best of all, you catch both a great breeze and beautiful views on both sides!  One side of the dam is the reservoir itself, where you can see the beach across the way, boats zipping by, or fisherman waiting patiently. The other side is a gorgeous, expansive field that makes you feel like you are far away from the city!  This is one of my favorite and safest places in the city for jogging and views!

Light jogging area

Easy, paved, and pet friendly! This dam has never been overly crowded when I've been there, and it has bathrooms nearby. Not my favorite place to run, but a great change of scenery when I need it!
