From the parking area, walk into the trees and on the right you will see a fairly large trail. You will walk along the trail until it breaks off (to the left is Little Presque Isle). Go to the right and follow the trail along the lake. This is an amazing hike because there are many little beaches right off the trail. Also, you get an awesome view of Sugarloaf Mountain. Stay on this trail. You will climb one set of stairs followed by a small bridge like walkway.

Caution There is a wooden fence and below is Hidden Beach. It is an extremely high cliff – stay on trail. You will walk around the top edge of Hidden Beach. Follow the trail down (it is steep) to until it becomes rocks and enter Hidden Beach.

The cliffs that you will see at Hidden Beach are approximately 2.3 billion years old.

Getting there: Hidden Beach is located 7 miles northwest of Marquette. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive up County Road 510 (The Big Bay Road). You’ll pass Sugarloaf Mountain (located on right) and Wetmore Landing (located on right). Keep driving for a few more miles and before a small bridge, there will be a Little Presque Isle sign to the right. Turn in (unpaved) and drive a short ways until you arrive at a parking lot.
