So beautiful, but proceed with caution. It is easy to read up online about the water quality here. Often there is a sign posted at the site warning poor water quality. Unfortunately Ink Wells only passes weekly tests for safe bacteria levels 40% of the time. I am sure there is a way to support Marin County's efforts toward better water quality. The county researches and educates regarding septic leakage and ranching practices that might contribute to the less than desirable bacteria levels... If you do dip, make sure to rinse off as soon as possible and keep tabs on how you feel a few days after & take your vitamin C etc.. By all means try not to open your mouth or eyes in the water!
