An absolutely spectacular hike. You get to travel a good portion of the Kalalau Trail before heading up Hanakāpī‘ai Valley to a stunning waterfall. This is a challenging hike with lots of wading and very slippery portions. Be prepared for that. I bit it a couple times even though I was being very cautious. Totally worth it though. Best hike in Hawaii!

When I was there in February 2017 it was extremely crowded with a Fourth of July at the Lake kind of atmosphere. Wasn't expecting that. But we were able to find some areas that had a little more solitude. Great for photos!
