Dynjandi Walking Trail, Iceland
Description
Added by James Hueser
The path to Dynjandi passes a series of waterfalls that are each more impressive than the last, with the "thundering one" always present in the background.
The most difficult part about this is getting to the falls - the road is closed during the winter (or at least shouldn't be driven on), and is has quite a few potholes on the way. That being said, it's actually a really cool drive as well across a pretty unique landscape of lava fields.
I think the thing that makes Dynjandi so impressive isn't that it has a cumulative height of around 100m, or just how amazing each individual cascade is, but that the entire path is almost like preparation to stand at the base of Dynjandi.
What surprised me most was just how big Dynjandi is, as most pictures don't have anything to provide any scale. Hopefully you'll find it as awe-some as I did.
