Moanalua Valley and Tripler Ridge Trail Loop Reviews
Did the lower part as a 6mi out and back trail run. Hardly saw anyone, very muddy, but pretty! Great trail running spot. Parking is easy.

Moanalua Middle Ridge Trail to the Haiku Stairs Peak
The ‘back way’ to the ever popular and still somewhat illegal Haiku Stairs, the Moanalua Middle Ridge hike brings plenty of beauty and even more challenges than the path down the Haiku Stairs. To get to the trailhead, park outside the Moanalua Valley Park and the trail begins just after the green gate. The first 2.9 miles are fairly straightforward with only 100ft of elevation each mile. Be sure to wear proper footwear as there will be a little bit of scrambling and potentially muddy parts of the trail.

Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden
Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden is on my list of the top ten most beautiful nature places you can drive to.
Hoʻomaluhia means "to make a place of peace and tranquility." This breathtaking gem was built in 1982 by the US Army Corps of Engineering to prevent flooding.
There’s a lot to do here, you can even camp and fish. There’s a nature trail by the Botanic Library that takes you to a lake. It...
