A short and easy hike right next to Ross School of Medicine. You can cool off beneath the bridge in the Picard River or continue along the Waitukubuli trail from the Picard Bridge.
Hiking to Picard Bridge is fairly simple and can be done during any season. Starting at Ross School of Medicine in Dominica, take the trail to the left of the St. James building. Ask a local or a student if you are unable to locate the trailhead. The hike begins on a flat dirt road and you'll soon encounter some harmless goats. You'll hike about .8 miles and you'll see a nice overlook that used to be a bar. Feel free to check out the amazing view! Before the overlook, however, you'll make a left down a trail marked Waitukubuli trail. This will lead you to the Picard Bridge where you can go swimming or continue hiking along the trail.
Note: The Waitukubuli trail spans 115 miles across the island of Dominica and the Picard Bridge is just a tiny portion of this trail.
