Canoe the Saugeen River

Hanover, Ontario

Description

Added by Mathew Blacklock

One of the best canoe routes in Southern Ontario.

Winding 102 km through the scenic countryside and some small towns, the main Saugeen River canoe route stretches from Hanover to Southampton, where it empties into Lake Huron. The trip can be completed in 3 to 4 days, with ease. Or just take a nice day trip and enjoy relaxing on the water. Stay overnight in one of the riverside towns or camp at one of the many places along the route. Great fishing and opportunities to see wildlife along many parts of the river.
