Description

This hike is by far one of the most stunning landscapes I have ever set my eyes on. To know wind & water can create such a marvel really helped me to have more respect for mother nature.

Starting at the parking lot at the end of House Rock Valley Road, the hike starts in the wash out of a river. There is not much of an elevation gain the entire time, you will be hiking in the desert with very little vegetation, almost no shade for the duration and please note there are no hiking markers. You will be given a map from BLM when you attain your permit from the lottery. This will be your saving grace, a compass is very important as well.

The hike is moderate, but very hot if in the summer months. You are hiking over sand and sand stone so make sure you start as close to sunrise as possible. Once you reach The Wave the rock formations are some of the most sought after sites in the United States and you will understand why.
