Hiking Saddlebag Twenty Lakes Basin

Lee Vining, California

Description

Added by Christine Eaves

Absolutely stunning in beauty. The lakes and views are tremendous and the remoteness of the location lends to the dreaminess of this adventure.

Take the water taxi to the north end of the lake, where the real hike begins and either do the loop, visiting a handful of incredible lakes, or continue over to Lundy for an overnight adventure. Be ready to feel the elevation as you hike this gorgeous spot. Bring your camera! The terrain is very rough at the beginning of this hike if you go counter-clockwise on the loop. Look for fish and tadpoles in the lakes and streams. This hike felt very remote and was a pure joy from start to finish.
