Epic photo opportunityUnique view straight down into Yosemite ValleyAdrenaline rush

Overhang Rock is iconic in old pictures from Yosemite. Despite signs warning of danger you can easily get the same iconic pictures, so long as you keep safety in mind. The rock juts out 3200ft above Yosemite Valley with Half Dome as the backdrop.

There is another, smaller rock nearby that provides an amazing angle to take pictures of whoever is on the rock. It is also flat and wide enough for a tripod if you have a remote shutter release.

When you walk to the furthest lookout area at Glacier Point, look away from Half Dome to see the rock, it shouldn't be hard to find. You can then walk around the bushes next to the lookout and climb up to Overhang Rock. Be very careful, it gets slippery when it's been raining. Once you're on the main part of the rock, it is sturdy and a few feet wide. Though of course, always stay mindful of your safety. Tourists die every year by being reckless while trying to take pictures, this is not a situation for recklessness. Be smart and be safe.
