Knee shaking and heartbreaking. The hike itself isn't for the faint of heart but for those who dare put themselves to the test, the Upper Yosemite Falls hike delivers it all and then some. Grab your boots and have the trekking poles ready! (Very Handy)
Yosemite Falls has to be one of the most iconic falls in the park along with one of the most demanding trail to get there. The trail is easily accessed from the Yosemite Falls parking lot just before Camp 4. You can also use the parking lot across from Camp 4 to give you a little bit more immediate access to the trailhead by scrambling through the campers and boulders to the trail along the tree line. The hike itself begins at 4000 ft and throws you into the switchbacks immediately so get ready for the 2,500 ft ascent to the summit! Aside from the inclination the views attained here are consistent and only get that much better as you climb above the valley tree line. Once at the top Yosemite rewards you with a view entirely its own, get up, get out and enjoy!
