Vietnam's 4 Islands Boat Tour

If you're staying in Nha Trang, you can book the 4 islands tour from any hostel or travel agency on the street for around $8-10 USD.

The tour starts at 8:30 am with a pickup from your hostel, and then heads to the docks. You'll head out to the islands with your first stop at an island for some swimming and snorkeling. You'll hang out here for about 2 hours. Your boat will return with a full lunch setup...spring rolls, shrimp, squid, fish cakes, rice, more than you can eat. The guides break out drums and a guitar and serenade the boat with tunes and bring people up for some karaoke. And of course, plenty of beer.

The next stop will be at another island for some jumping off the boat and hanging out in the water with a "floating bar". You'll continue to another beach stop, where I slept most of the time being already exhausted from being in the sun all day. The final stop is at an aquarium, but at the time of writing this cost 90,000 dong (~$42) and our guide said it wasn't that great so we skipped it.

You'll return to Nha Trang around 4:30-5pm.

Overall, a beautiful and fun day, especially for the younger crowd. They seem to do a pretty good job of segregating the regular tourists and more rowdy backpackers by boat so everyone has a good experience.
