Distance: 22 miles of bikingElevation gain: 1,600 ftAwesome views of Big Cottonwood Canyon and Park CityRide along the ridge/across Park City Resort peaksClimbs + downhill
Heading from Park City, Utah, drive to the top of Guardsman's Pass (accessible from Salt Lake City as well via Big Cottonwood Canyon) and park in the gravel/along the road. You will need two cars to do this ride, as you will be leaving one behind at the top and meeting one at the bottom - make sure to set up a shuttle ride!
There is a dirt opening across the road from the parking lot that heads straight up that hill, you will want to take the left trail which will have a wooden marker by it.
You will ride this trail, taking a left at the next available marker, and you will end up coming out at the bottom of the run called Pinecone. You will then bike up the wide gravel track to the left and begin the "Puke Hill" leg which is a steep, but achievable climb.
After reaching the top you will continue on to the left where there is a visible path that brings you onto The Crest Trail; this trail is a 22 mile ride featuring many different types of terrain and natural features.
You will pass key locations such as Desolation Lake, Peak 9990, and Murdock Peak, ending up on the outskirts of Canyons Resort. Do not take someone who has never mountain biked before, on this trail. It does require your full attention and there are some intermediate-advanced technical sections.
