These Lava tubes are intriguing, exciting and gorgeous! They are in the heart of Dixie!

The Lava tubes at Snow Canyon Park are just outside of Ivins/St. George Utah.  Drive up Snow Canyon and pay the $6 to the ranger fee.  Follow the road up to the Lava Flow Whiterocks sign.  The trail starts there and goes for about 1 mile there and back.  There are two big lava tubes to see, one larger and one smaller.  The larger tube is more of a hole in the ground, and it would be difficult to manuever in and out of the tube without good equipment.  The smaller tube goes back into ground for only 20-30 ft.  It makes for a nice scramble over big rocks in the dark.  Mosquitos are pretty crazy down there.  If you keep following the trail outside, you'll reach a lookout point that give a good view from inside the canyon.
