Springdale, Utah

Description

Added by Adam Byrd

Distance: 8 miles roundtripTime: 4-6 hoursElevation Gain: 2148 feetPeak: 6508 feetAn incredible panorama of Zion Canyon, with a viewpoint directly next to a 2000 ft. dropoff.

Start at the Weeping Rock Trailhead and begin a long stretch of switchbacks up the side of the mountain. Once the trail wraps around the mountain, it quickly flattens out and you find yourself in Echo Canyon, a beautiful slot canyon cutting straight through the rock. This ends soon though and you once again find yourself on a steep incline, with more switchbacks. Continue up the mountain, and after a considerable ways, it rewards you by flattening out again, leaving you with a relatively flat, half-mile hike to Observation Point. At the end you will be greeted by an incredible peer into the vastness and beauty of Zion Canyon. Sit down, have a beer (if you want), and enjoy the ethereal splendor of creation.
