The Uinta National Forest is a great location for those days that you need to spend a night under the stars but don't have all weekend to do it.

There are pulls offs all along the main highway when coming from Kamas, Utah and you can access the Uintas from Heber Valley as well.

Go before or after a full moon to see the stars the best and make sure to bring warm camping gear!
