This is a nice, easy trail in the Ogden Nature Center (North) that is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. The quick loop has a slight elevation gain on the side nearest the mountain and is more open and flat in the wetland meadow area. There are a lot of wooden plank bridges over the runoff streams and marshy areas.

Hollow Rock Trail to Headwaters Loop

The Hollow Rock Nature Preserve is a very calm, quite place that is great for an easy weekend hike. The trails are smaller and can be a little soggy after rain. I would recommend waiting 3-4 days after rain to visit and to do the loop clockwise. There are several benches along the way that are great for bird watching.

Pump Station Trail Loop

Great trail that is well shaded and right along the Eno River. There plenty of connections to other trails like Laurel Bluffs and the Mountain to Sea trail sections. Plenty of parking and not crowded. Additionally, there are ruins of Old Durham to look at and explore!

Wonderfully maintained nature park with small loops to hike, picnic areas, and a trail connecting to the Mountain-to-Sea trail that leads to the Falls Lake Dam. Full loop is between the two trails and it has a decent amount of ups and downs.

Dunnagan trail is a great trail for non-hikers and hikers alike! Several great spots to spend some time on the Eno River to swim and enjoy the water. The trail is a loop that starts a short distance from the parking area. There are portions of the trail that are rooty and rocky, but the majority of the trail is easy and smooth. There is a lot of tree cover for shade, making it a great hike if you want to get out in the hot summer months.

Lake Johnson West Loop Trail

Great natural trail. Short segment of rooty, up and down hills with a good scenic overlook. Good tree cover for midday and afternoon hikes in the heat. Loop overlaps with the East Loop Trail on the bridge over the lake.

Paved trail, well maintained and not busy in the early morning. Lots of tree cover for shade for midday and evening hikes.
