My little family stumbled upon Sombrio Beach driving along the coast during the busy summer season. All the usual campgrounds were full and we were beginning to lose hope when we took a chance on the steep dirt road leading down to the ocean. We ended up discovering the gem that this beach is and camped for a full week with very few people and the most stunning views we've ever had from our tent. Bring a wagon or some solid backpacks to carry camp supplies to the beach. Bear boxes are supplied for food and there are plenty of adventures to head off on in either direction. Hot tip: make the short drive to Port Renfrew for coffee and/or pizza. Beach Camp Coffee Co has some amazing brew and Pie-ro Pizza provided us some much needed nourishment that we took back to the beach to enjoy sunset with.
