Great hike. Not too challenging, the tunnel was totally a highlight. Would recommend a headlamp.

A great option for an urban break or “choose your own adventure.” This is an old railway line that they paved, so it is flat, smooth, and straight as an arrow. Awesome for runs and casual walks. When in downtown Carmel, they have a few public outdoor spaces where you can bring your kids/play ping pong/other activities.

Hike the Turkey Run Trail System

Can be crowded at times. Great parking. When you have the choice, always opt for the trails with ladders: they’re all in creek beds so they are more challenging than usual for Indiana trails. Definitely worth the drive!

Cataract Falls in Lieber State Recreation Area

Very pleasent. A small, but relatively hidden gem of Indiana. When we were there, there were some loud visitors there as well.
