This place never fails to exceed expectations. Do NOT be deterred by so called “bad weather.” Do dress appropriately, because storms at Point Lobos are spectacular! As a bonus, far fewer people are out in “bad weather.” Storms also bring out the sea life. A huge flock of pelicans were holed up on Bird Rock, along with other sea birds. The storm moved fish around, and I saw easily 50 otters, including babies, lots of seals and sea lions and more. All this against a background of churning ocean snd huge spray as waves crashed against rocks. Bring binoculars, dress for the weather, and enjoy this incredible place!
