A local Peruvian guide will share the secrets of his cultural heritage as we explore Ollantaytambo, Andean villages and ruins, agricultural terraces and attend a natural dyeing and weaving demonstration.  We'll hike through lush high-mountain forests where hummingbirds and sparkling waterfalls entice us on our journey. Finally, we pass through the Sun Gate where majestic views of Machu Picchu 'the Lost City of the Incas' reward us.

  • Hike to the "Living Inca Town" of Ollantaytambo where inhabitants still follow ancient Inca traditions
  • Stop at Yanahuara village, the Sacred Valley's peach capital, and enjoy chicha, the traditional Andean corn bee
  • rVisit the traditional Andean Village Willoq and attend a weaving & dyeing demonstration
  • Pass through the Sun Gate and take in spectacular views of Machu Picchu
  • Take a guided tour of Machu Picchu before traveling back to Cusco

Travel from Cusco to Yucay in Peru's Sacred Valley. Visit the Sayri Tupac Palace and the restored colonial church of Santiago Apostol. Hike to the Andean terraces and the Unu Urco ruins with magnificent landscape views. Visit ancient cave paintings and 4000 year-old pre-Inca tombs. Stroll through Maras then hike to the fascinating circled terraces of Moray before hiking to the Maras salt works. Hike along the Vilcanota River through Inca terraces and archaeological sites to Ollantaytambo. Transfer to the traditional Andean village of Willoq and attend weaving and natural dyeing demonstrations. Hike to Pumamarca and explore Inca terraces, water canals and more ancient architecture. Ride the Vistadome Train from Ollantaytambo to the trailhead at KM 104 then hike to Wina Wayna and on to Machu Picchu. Spend the night at the renowned Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Machu Picchu's 'the Lost City of the Incas'. Ride the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo then travel back to Cusco.
